NSA Phone tap re: Pastor Sterbens |
Cojak |
There are thoughts that make me smile........
Brother Sterbens sitting in his study when the phone rings. "Hello, is this Reverend Sterbens?" the caller asks.
"It is." replied Brother Tom.
"This is Bill Johnson with the Internal Revenue Service. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions?"
"I'll try." said the pastor.
"Do you know a John Timmons?"
"I do."
"Is he a member of your congregation?"
"He is."
"Did he donate $10,000 to the church?"
"He will."
"BTW Pastor did you see the Shack?"
"I did."
"For a pastor, you are a man of few words, does this reflect in your sermons?"
"At times."

Very creative, Cojak. You should write a book. |

Mods - please ban Cojak cause he has made Pastor Tom into a liar.
He said Tom said he was a man of few words - including his sermons.
Anyone that has ever listened to one of those sermons knows that isn't remotely true. _________________ Whether you like it or not, learn to love it, because its the best thing going today! |

No, that's just evidence that the NSA is tinkering with audio before releasing the files.
I was tempted to rewrite that last sentence for Cojak, myself, but I restrained myself (at least momentarily--but now that you've brought it up, I might have to try it). |

Okay, here's the challenge: help Cojak edit his last sentence.
"If I eliminate all the parenthetical materials and humorous asides, essentially my sermons would be concise, but I never let a desire for brevity exceed the bounds of the value of clarity of understanding for those listening." |

Now Ms Bonnie, YOU know I am 'skeered' of words I cannot pronounce 'or even say', LOL.
TOM:
I never said that stuff! I still want to book a revival! _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

OK, here is Cojak's edited last sentence:
The length of my sermons is best understood within the socio-economic, meta-physical, gender-transparent, transcendent, seeker-sensitive, nature of the audience, coupled with the contextual elements of audience participation, then conjoined by the common denominator of a Seviervillian dialect and the capacity of said audience to interpret the presented data and make it pragmatically applicable for daily use. |

I especially like "contextual elements" and "Seviervillian dialect." That sounds like Tom. |
