The fact is, she posted this:
Tomorrow, at last, is the end of a long, divisive election season that has left us exhausted and battered and bruised. But whatever happens tomorrow, this is my credo for Wednesday.
I believe in God and that our political concerns are minute in the grand scheme of His care and power.
I believe in democracy and that it will survive and flourish no matter how badly we batter and malign it.
I believe in the Constitution and the beautiful declaration that we are all created equal by a God who endows us with rights that no government can take away.
I believe in the essential goodness of humankind, created in the image of God and able to love the "least of these" and make a place for them in the midst of our prosperity.
I believe in America which, for all its faults and failures, is still a beacon of hope and goodness to millions around the world.
I believe in us--in our ability to come back together across the chasm that seems to divide us--to rebuild trust and truth and goodness.
Then, someone started posting stuff about her political views. She is a Democrat. Has been ever since I have known her, which is over 40 years. The fact that she works at Lee is a moot point. People have the right to hold their opinions and work. He continued to badger her until enough was enough. I don't blame her. I would say the majority of her friends don't like Hillary. Since you said "folks," do you know of more than one? |

Was it regarding unlimited abortions up to 9 months gestation?

As you can see, she posted a very gracious post on HER wall. He made his comments and she always responded with kindness and he just wouldn't let it go. It doesn't matter if he was right or wrong in his opinion, he was being rude to her on her wall. Again, I don't blame her. |

Bottom line.
I don't care if the Professor votes for a Democrat.
However, that professor needs to unequivocally state that the Democrat Party has the abortion issue wrong.
Just as Marco Rubio says he doesn't agree with Trump on many issues - and spells those things out - but still votes for him - because he is better that the alternative...the Lee Professor needs to state the same thing regarding abortion. It is the Holocaust of our day.
Tough to call yourself a Christian University if professors can't state they are against murdering unborn children that God created.
Being gracious as you support murder isn't all that gracious in my opinion.

I got all that info - but thanks for offering. There isn't anymore to ask. She has made clear her answers already...which is why some folks were unfriended.
However, if other COG folks are interested - perhaps you will share that info with them.

I'm sure I know who you speak of, and my reply is not an attack on her but an observation on the matter of Christian's supporting the Democratic party.
I think this quote captures the philosophy of Democratic Christians in a nutshell.

1. I believe in the essential goodness of humankind - Is that what evangelical Christians believe?
"Why do you call Me good? Jesus replied, “No one is good except God alone. - Mark 10:18

- out of context, leaving off "my brothers". Who are the brothers' of Christ? Can the children of the Devil be the brothers of Christ as well? The Church should take care of the poor in the Church. Yes, something we have to work on, but not something to surrender to the government.
And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’ - Matthew 25:40
And all of that doesn't mean we don't need to have some programs as safety nets, I believe in many (not all) of the ones in place today. But the "progressive" agenda is always MORE MORE MORE, and using a sentiment and partial quote of scripture out of context does not justify it.
3. For some reason, these misplaced sentiments seem to trump the right to life of the unborn, and the sanctity of marriage and well as common sense spending and accountability. |
