2 Kings 4 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
The Widow’s Oil Multiplied
4 One of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant, my husband, has died. You know that your servant feared the Lord. Now the creditor is coming to take my two children as his slaves.â€
2 Elisha asked her, “What can I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?â€
She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.â€
3 Then he said, “Go and borrow empty containers from everyone—from all your neighbors. Do not get just a few. 4 Then go in and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour oil into all these containers. Set the full ones to one side.†5 So she left.
After she had shut the door behind her and her sons, they kept bringing her containers, and she kept pouring. 6 When they were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another container.â€
But he replied, “There aren’t any more.†Then the oil stopped.
7 She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go sell the oil and pay your debt; you and your sons can live on the rest.â€
Well, I will say I fell for it and believed it because I have seen oil personally come out of my wifes hands as she played worship music in Oct 1999 and over a period of several months we saw this happen at special times (as God chose - not us). We also experienced the Gold Dust for about a year periodically again as God Choose & not us. It would show up at the oddest of times and we saw people come to Christ through this and some had a special encounter with God. On one occasion an older Minister that had been put through the wringer by trials etc happened to be standing and worshipping with us and looked down and saw his hands and arms covered with the gold speckles. I'll never forget the voice he said this in nor the look on his face but he said, Oh my, God loves even me. I gradually stopped showing up and we have not seen it since the middle of 2000. I'm sure that through out the times that it did show up that maybe a 100 or so over that period of time were blessed with that miracle. We didn't ask for it nor did we shy away from it. The experience was priceless to us. Whatever way God desires to manifest Himself to us, I'm all for it. I won't question it. Now about the Georgia oil, I'm not sure either way and as other on here have been very careful with our words, I want to stay that way too. I spoke against a Prophet back in the 60's (yes, I'm that old) and to me he was clearly out of order but God rebuked me sharply and told me that he was His problem and he was not my problem. It scared me when He told me that but I've tried to be careful since then. I have no problem speaking the truth about those that are definitely not following God, but if I have any inkling of doubt I keep quiet. That's why I'm not saying too much about this, but if this happens to be false I'm sure God will take care of it. And we will see the results too. I do like accelerate even though it can get hairy sometimes. lol _________________ IT'S GOD'S TIME FOR SOUTH CAROLINA |
