Will AB’s be reappointed to the same states for 2 mores years or can we expect they may get moved this summer? Was this addressed in the meetings? |

The Executive Council only passed items concerning elected positions and General Assembly dates. |

Thanks for the response. So Does that mean it is totally up to the Executive Committee? |

It's always up to the Executive Committee when it comes to ABs.
The General Assembly has no role in the process.
The Executive Committee appoints and reappoints, within the limitations of the Minutes. |

The General Assembly has addressed tenures for both elected and appointed leaders. The appointed leaders are really unattached to the location of the General Assembly. The process for appointing these leaders has been directed by the General Assembly. Those appointments are the responsibility of the Executive Committee as directed by our polity. |

Ps. Travis Johnson, you're also an original ACTS-CELERATOR!
We go way back on here back to the late 90's. Good to finally see a response and contribution here after many years of being away. I kind of came back here recently as well. |

That is good for us in Texas. The Morgans and Ficketts are good leaders and people. _________________ Proverbs 3:5-6; John 13:34-35; Acts 1:8 |

Wasn't at least one of them over tenure and supposed to move to SC?
Is this still happening? Do the Minutes still matter? _________________ Imperium centratus delenda est

At least one is moving. There will be a few others that move as well before it is over. No one is coming of the committee though. Are you thinking JDS to SC? _________________ Hate to say it, but its true

CF but this was well known as a move
The video said 2 have to move because of tenure
The video said decision will begin being made this past Monday
The video was not posted 2-3 days later so many lost interest
The video link was removed from sticky as well
Was the video published - where and when
Hold up on my question about the Minutes... _________________ Imperium centratus delenda est

I am hearing that there will be 2 overseers in medium sized states who are tenured and will retire. Since two tenured International leaders will remain in their positions, that means potentially two pastors from large churches in Ohio and Alabama will move into those states as overseers. If so, that opens up two strong churches. We will see. |

Why do you suggest Alabama or Ohio? Couldn't those 2 Overseers come from other states too? I will say openly that I don't like that states like ours in Delmarva and others always have to be succumbed to Alabama or Georgia. We've got some of the highest qualified larger church Pastors here in Delmarva DC who I'd love to see a few of those guys go out to be Overseers. |

Is becoming an AB more in God’s eye than pastoring? ABs are great if they have that calling. It is devastating if they don’t. Being a great pastor don’t mean they will be a great AB. What AB ever wants to go back to pastoring? We have created a system of permanent system men. We reward overseers that get poor votes by giving them larger states to mess up. Supporting the system has become the current MISSION in the COG. |

I was referencing two specific pastors who are obviously moving into overseers. I don’t think overseer work would be a “promotion†for either. These two pastors I am hearing would be great overseers. You mentioned Georgia. When is the last time an overseer was appointed from Georgia? Hasn’t it been over 20 years? |

OH sold several churches not long ago and one can imagine state office is still in good standing.
AL almost recovered after the 4 out-of-state pastors, so one can imagine it will be handled with care.
Just to be straight with yall, I wonder how some official leaked information appears. _________________ Imperium centratus delenda est

Based upon the crazy misinformation often posted on here, I don’t think I would consider anything “official informationâ€. |

According to what Dr Hill said in the video a couple of weeks ago, all ABs will remain in place and these next two years will not count toward tenure. I'm not sure what that last part actually means. I'm not sure if it means these next two years won't count toward the tenure of ABs who were set to tenure out this year or if it means these next two years don't count against anyone's tenure.
I know of at least one AB who is going to retire as he had already planned to do. There may be other retirements that will cause some movement. But, I don't expect to see many changes. _________________ Socialism is a great idea until you run out of other people's money. |
