I've been around here just a few short weeks and in that time I've tried to learn as much as I can about this board and many of the posters. Believe it or not, I actually read most of the posts on all 78 pages of Acts-Celerate! Yes, I freely admit that I have way too much time on my hands, and being newly retired that is likely to continue for a while.
I found this site from a Google search, and found it intriguing enough to join, hoping to learn from others and looking for a place to enjoy Christian fellowship among my fellow ministers.
I've been in ministry for 40 of my 62 years, so while I may not be as long tenured as some here, I am far from being a novice. I have served the church in just about every capacity there is, including pastor, evangelist, and janitor. Suffice it to say that I love the church, and I love people even more.
That being said, what I have read on this site the past few days is IMO heartbreaking. Far from Christian fellowship, what I am seeing is an implosion from within that the enemy is using to spread divisions among long time participants of this board.
I would ask those who consider themselves to be "defenders of the faith" if this approach is resulting in unity or division? Are your words Christ edifying, or do you only care about being "right"?
Just as importantly is that there is a world of lost people at the doorstep of this site, any of whom can drop in with just a click of the mouse. Are the posts of the past few days the kind that you wish to share with the lost? Would you treat the lost in the same manner as you're treating fellow believers? Or is this reserved only for the sons and daughters of God?
At any rate, being new here I know that my words carry little,if any weight here. I respect that. But please remember that the whole world has access to your comments. And as we all know, they are watching. Are they ever.
More importantly, the God we serve is also watching. If that fact alone doesn't cause us to temper our approach to one another, I'm afraid there is a far greater problem that needs to be addressed.
As for me, based upon recent comments this isn't the place I thought it was, so with that I'll say my good bye now and respectfully ask that my account be deleted. I sincerely hope you all can come to a peaceful resolution at some point. _________________ “Hell will be filled with people that didn’t cuss, didn’t drink, and may even have been baptized. Why? Don't leave yet, just take off for a week or so, the sower-of-discord will soon be banned and we'll get back to the important stuff like whether its a sin to drink or not. Hang in there. |

Wait! We've hardly had time to welcome you!
I'd ask you to at least lurk for a few more days; I expect there will be some changes soon. |

Good post Brother. Hope you stay. We need more good wisdom and love on Acts. I am on a couple other forums and this one is "mild" in comparison to one of the forums that I am on. Sometimes, I can't believe how so unkind people can be - so saying this, please stay... |
