This board is open for discussion so viewers can agree or disagree with the policies and decisions of those they have elected to provide leadership in the COG.
As far as denominational groups go, it is this writer's opinion that the COG and it's elected leadership most often EXCEL. In God's vast fleet of Bible-believing denominations of all sizes, the Good Ship COG is an excellent one on which to travel life's Christian journey together.
It has been an honor to at times work closely with many of our officials. I cherish the memory of each one of them, those now, and those of years gone by; every one of them.
LIKE ANY GREAT SHIP, there are leaks at times, even the Good Ship COG. However, the purpose of a ship is not the ship. The purpose of a ship is making sure the people on board reach their destination safely. To help that happen, maintenance of the ship is a constant endeavor.
FISHING
However, the Good Ship COG is not designed to be a cruise ship. Our Captain declared that He would train us to be "Fishers of men." Our lives and our ship are designed for fishing. With the Lord's guiding, we are to catch the heart of men and women and draw them to our precious Lord.
At times, we may be called upon for administration. It is honorable work. All fishing vessels have to do some of that.
We may be called upon to make executive decisions. Fishing crews must do that too, but we are not called to be Activity Directors on a cruise. Regardless what setting in which we find ourselves, we should never try to wash the smell of fish off our hands or out of our souls.
RESCUE
In addition, the Good Ship COG is a rescue vessel. We are to be on our way sailing at top speed to where there are those sinking; headed for the bottom, broken, devastated, terrified, without hope.
"Souls are crying, men are dying, won't you lead them to the Cross.
Go and find them, help to win them. Win the lost at any cost."
We are blessed to have Godly-minded leaders. When they excel as they are doing now, we should be readily available to share how much we appreciate their improving the journey.
In this writer's opinion, this concept of an online International COG Meeting is a powerful leap forward. During these difficult pandemic times, bringing our people around the globe together for this online meeting, will be a major blessing to many.
It's tough and lonely out there. and life-threatening in some places. I believe this meeting can be a dynamic leap forward for the COG.
Congratulations to COG officials for their innovative approach to this and for using technology for the Glory of God.
When he was General Overseer, Dr. Robert White and the Executive Committee then, reached out internationally by using a satellite to broadcast the General Assembly worldwide. That was an amazing milestone as is this upcoming live-stream International Online Meeting.
