If you could implement one change in your church today, and make it effective immediately, what would it be? I heard of one pastor who was obsessed about moving a piano in his church. The congregation was determined that the piano was already where it was "supposed to be". So he decided to move the piano a little bit at the time. By the end of the year, he had the piano in the location he intended Laughing

Some changes must be implemented slowly. But if you had carte blanche for just one thing, what would you do? Fire a staff member? Remodel part of the facilities? Hire a staff member?

I have been preparing to turn this ship about for quite sometime. Praying and learning. We are headed down fast and and a quick turn would probably put us in a tail-spin. Sunday evening I began educating our folks on the direction that we need to be going. Changes that need to be made, etc. I have been here quite some time and have built some trust. We had some good success in the beginning, but many set backs in the past couple of years have caused a lot of erosion.

I don't think there is a magic bullet. My first thought was I would like a children's minister, but the reality is if the people aren't ready, it could cause more harm than good.
