Just for fun--some dreams I've had lately

Saturday night I dreamed about the woman who teaches our Sunday school sometimes. I can't remember now exactly what the dream was about, but it seemed she needed some encouragement. Now, I would say that something she said about herself in Sunday school a few weeks ago and something she said at lunch last week might have led me to feel she needed encouragement. So I prayed that she would be encouraged and strengthened.
Last night, I dreamed I was at the home (a mobile home) of a single mother. She was at the stove cooking. The drawer under the stove had come off the track, and the vinyl flooring had been worn out where the drawer was scraping the floor. She was in need of financial assistance but grinned when she told me that next month a cop was paying her to go on a date. (I was disgusted and incredulous. Why would she go out with a cop?? Didn't she know he was corrupting his office? Didn't she know or care that he was expecting it to be more than a date?) I helped her get the stove drawer back on track which wasn't hard to do. Then there were other hinged metal pieces that I was trying to figure out how worked. I wasn't sure I got them like they were supposed to be, but I got them fixed so that they weren't in the way. She had heated up some pecan spins in a nonstick frying pan, and I helped myself to one (though I didn't actually eat it in the dream). There was something bright orange in the dream; I don't remember if it was her red hair or if it was her housecoat. She was not anyone I know.

Over the years, one of my recurring dreams is looking for a private place to use the bathroom. Do you think that was prophetic given what's going on in NC with the HB2? Razz

My recurring dream is being in formation and not in uniform and hoping no one will notice. (I keep telling myself the Gunny will notice, this is the Corps for heavens sake).

It is always the USMC, not the AF or USN of course. (smile!) Shocked

Last night I dreamed I was in the small town near where I grew up. It was in the early 1800's.

I walked down the street where my wife and I lived after we married. The house we lived in was not there. There was a much smaller house that was built before the one we lived in.

In my dream I knew I had gone back in time and was explaining to some folks what this would look like in 2016.

A recurring dream.

I pastored in a small town from 78-82. We loved the people and the area. I have dreamed several times over the years that I went back to pastor that church.

The community and the church is much larger than it was then. I would go back if I had a chance. The current pastor has been there a long time and probably stay until he retires. He is younger than me so this will likely never happen.

I once dreamed I found a private place to use the bathroom. I used the bathroom and felt relieved. I woke up, and I had NOT wet the bed. I thought that was interesting.

A couple of nights ago, I went on a dreaming rampage, so to speak. The other day when Ole Timer posted the Dream Dictionary for Dummies, I went to Amazon to take a look inside. As I was glancing through, I noticed it said to write down which animals you think are allies (or something to that effect). I thought I might consider dogs allies. I think that affected my dream.
In my dream, I dreamed an overweight Rottweiler was slinking up toward me with his head down. He was coming at me from directly in front of me. Coming from my right was a German shepherd. I considered both of them a threat. I kicked my right leg in the direction of the German shepherd. The motion shook the bed, and I awoke with a discomfort in my left heel where my right foot had come to land after the kick. (I was glad I had not kicked Chief Charging Battery.)

The other part of the dream I had that night was much more lengthy and involved. It involved the man who used to live next door but lost his house to foreclosure. I dreamed we were on a boat not far off shore. It was a bit dark and stormy, but not as dark as nighttime. We were going to swim ashore. (I don't remember now what we were looking for.) When we washed up on shore, I thought the romantic thing to do would be to kiss, but I sure didn't want to kiss that guy, and if he suggested it, I was going to tell him I had already taken on enough salt water. (That was a lot more clever in my dream that it seems now that I'm awake, lol.) There were other people on the beach, some looking for shells, most headed toward the water. I saw there was a nice deposit of shells in one place on the sand, and I started to look through them. One looked promising, but I saw as soon as I picked it up that it was incomplete. Then I saw the very white sand dollar. I picked it up, and it was broken, but I could see two perfectly formed white doves inside it on the right side.

Ha ha, I just read that Tropical Storm Bonnie will be coming ashore Saturday night. You don't suppose that was what my dream was about, do you? Wink

Oh, my, I had forgotten that the last time I kicked in a dream, I was kicking at a dog.
Unfortunately, this time I was turned the other way, and I awoke after making the kicking motions. I was getting some pretty bad vibes from Chief Charging Battery. Shocked

This time my dream involved a little white dog that squeezed under the gate I had just closed to keep him out. (And I dreamed about a dog because the one next door has jumped up on me a couple of times, the last time quite recently.) I dreamed about it squeezing under the fence because I saw this video recently of a deer doing the limbo (from the blog 40acrewoods)

I was trying to shoo the dog back out through the gate with little kicking motions.
My sincere hope is that Chief Charging Battery went back to sleep and doesn't remember it.

The other thing that might have influenced me to dream about the little dog squeezing under the fence is what I saw a rabbit do one day. I often leave the gate open. One day when the gate happened to be closed a cottontail rabbit darted out from under some brush and toward the gate. I guess it had a usual path, because it slammed into the fence with a loud ping! Wow! I think we were probably both surprised. Then almost before I could blink, the rabbit squeezed through the mesh (a standard chain link fence mesh).

Ha! I think it was an advertisement for a scented cleaner that had a retro look. A woman with a 60's (or 70's?) dress and hairstyle was in a kitchen with a lot of orange.
...
or maybe...

The apartment that my husband had when we got married had ORANGE counter tops. Maybe I was remembering that.

For years I have encouraged my people to eat something before coming to Sun AM service.

It has been my experience that the noon wall exists because folks get hungry.

I was about ready to place a large bowl filled with breakfast bars on the vestibule table.

Then I had this dream.

I had indeed placed the afore mentioned bowl.

I was preaching when I noticed people beginning to exit the sanctuary.

Eventually everyone had left.

I could not figure out why because I was not preaching anything controversial.

As I opened the side door into the hall way I saw two lines of folks waiting to gain entrance to the restrooms.

Needless to say NO BOWL of bars will be placed for the folks convenience.
