Is there any hope for Charlotte in the middle of all these violent protests?

It's very disheartening, but I'm hoping things will change today as the National Guard comes in and as the family members of the man shot by police get a chance today to view the video of the incident.
Our governor was the mayor of Charlotte for many years, and I know he will give them the support they need.

I was hearing good reports out of Charlotte last night--National Guard presence, peaceful protests, some reports of arrests from the previous two nights.

my son and his girlfriend were downtown Dallas last night, he called me and said he didn't know what was happening but police were blocking all the roads down there. I told him to get out quickly. Turned out to be peaceful protest, but after 5 cops were gunned down here, you can't take it for granted that it will be peaceful. I scolded him for not having his gun on him in downtown Dallas.

I heard the lawyer for the Charlotte family on TV this morning asking that the video be released. He said it would likely change the situation in Charlotte, hinting that, yet again, there is clear evidence for a justified shooting.

This is a tragic video to say the least. I hurt for the family regardless of who was in the right or wrong.

Here's what I see and hear

1. Wife tells the police not to shoot him
2. She tells them again
3. You hear the police telling him to "put down the gun", (more than once)
4. You hear her say he doesn't have a gun.
5. She tells Keith to get out of the car (obey the officer)
6. She then starts yelling "Keith, don't you do it! " 4 times
7. While she is yelling "Keith, don't you do it", you hear the police shouting "drop the gun!"

Now, IF Keith doesn't have a gun, then my biggest question is what is she telling Keith not to do? As she's yelling that, the cops are yelling "drop the gun" and both she and the cops are escalating their pleas.

Either way, it is sad, but I can't believe that cops would just start yelling "drop the gun, over and over for several seconds" just so they could shoot a black man. Something was happening.

I believe I heard the wife or another family member on TV say "it is legal to have a gun". It was on Bill O'Reilly. So I tend to believe that he did indeed have a gun and was pointing it at the police. She left her "he doesn't have a gun" plea fairly quickly and never said it again even when the cops kept yelling "drop the gun", she changed to "Keith don't do it!".
