Post FL Governor up for grabs Nature Boy Florida
First words out of the Rep. nominee was "let's not monkey this up and vote for his opponent. (Who is black)

What is he channeling Jimmy the Greek Snyder and Howard Cosell (who also liked to use the word monkey - even though they didn't mean anything by it - of course)

With all due respect guys - why open yourselves up to this stuff?

What was wrong with saying "let's not mess things up"?

This should be a slam dunk for the Republicans against a serious Bernie Sanders socialist.

But now you will fire up the African American vote - which will drive larger turnout and also cost the senator job the Republicans could have picked up.

I think there must be some Russian conspiracy that causes stupidity.

You gotta love the racists who jumped on that word assuming he was calling blacks monkeys. How sick. Of course the average low-IQ voter will see it the way the race-baiters want them to. Yes, it was a poor choice of words considering how race-centric the democrat opponents are but most likely a word/phrase he's used all his life with no thought about race. Golf Cart Mafia Consigliere

I agree. But since you know the climate we are in - why aren't you smart enough to change?

Then again, Trump hasn't bothered to change - so maybe this IS the way you fight back against it.

You seem to think he really meant this in a racial way. Are you really this naïve?

Right on COJAK.

We just gotta be smarter than that so the CNNs of the world can't fire up those that only see race in everything.

No, I don't think he meant it in a racial way nor do I believe NBF is implying that. It is the fact we live in a climate that truth and facts really don't matter and that we live in a "gotcha" system. I have used the word "monkeying around" several times that last couple months. Only a fool would use such a word in a racist sense. Politicians don't lay out their case they once did....it is about avoiding the gotchas and attempting to go after your opponent using the gotcha. ...and as with any propaganda machine, you repeat the same like long enough that people begin believing.

Being a new resident (2 years) of Florida,I'll be interested in seeing if Florida politics are any different than those up north. If I were a betting man,I'd say not much based on what I've seen so far.

No doubt. Politics 'is' Politics All of then learn a little more about political correctness the higher they climb up the food chain.I am hoping the Governor seat is safely Republican.

I had to smile when I said that. I was solid democrat until about 1958, Amazing how the Democrat party left the worker and he/she doesn't know it yet. Embarassed
