But to the OP: I think the Commandant said there would be new guidelines soon!
But how in the world do you decide when a guy or gal has 200 tattoos??? 
I believe when I was active duty they did not care as long as the tat could not be seen when you were in uniform.
We used to shower together so one on the torso could have been an issue, but now we are prudes and must have our privacy, no longer 70 men in the shower-room they have stalls, so it should not be an issue.
No need to joke about the soap, we all have heard it.

Cojak, this aint got nothin to do with tattoo's an all, but, is a feller a prude just cause he don't wanna take a shower with 70 other fellers? Hey, if I gotta choice, I'm gonna go fer the stall ever time. |

| When i was in boot if you had a tattoo the DI drilled you hard about it. Whats so funny about it was back in the 60's the recruiter didnt care what you had done in the past nor did he care about anything about you other than you could not be gay. Other wise your in. Times have changed. |

Ohhh man, you probably didn't even like the YMCA!
But friend, I would loved to hear you ask the DI on Parris Island for a stall?
When you have 10 minutes to SSS you and no one else is thinking about much more than 'staying alive'! 
Seriously I never knew anyone who gave it a second thought.
