Post Old DeLand Church of God burning! Resident Skeptic
The Old Deland, FL Church of God The Sanctuary (Cleveland, TN) on Highway 15A is burning as I write this due to an accidental fire started by an electrician. The fire started in the attic of the two story Sunday School building and quickly spread. The facility is now owned by an Anderson, Indiana Church of God affiliated church, Lighthouse Christian Center. The Sanctuary now enjoys a new facility about 2 miles from the old location.

Could have been an electrician wanna be volunteer, good guy. I hope not. That is the problem with doing volunteer work.

If it was a licensed and insured electrician, I especially feel for him and the church.

We never attended the old church but attended the Sanctuary a couple times. Very friendly and 'inviting' church.

I was youth pastor there from 1988-1992 on and off. I had already left by the time the old building was sold. But that old facility will always be special to many present and former members of The Sanctuary.
