Loneliness is now so prevalent and medically determined to be catastrophic
health wise, Japan as instituted a new Cabinet-Level Minister of Loneliness.
All the way back in the early part of Genesis, Scripture proclaims, "The LORD God said, "It is not good for man to be alone."
Many of us can still remember Prayer Request for "Shut Ins." These days, loneliness is acute in America as well as other parts of the world. This brings to mind several possible ministries for a local church.
Possibly "Health Check" teams with people who have taken CPR and other courses, could visit people. Medical professionals are now sayin that loneliness is indeed a health issue.
The motive of course is genuine concern for people, but it would be an incredible way for churches to reach new people. Far easier to get access through "Health Checks" than an evangelism team.
Most likely, a lot of people would volunteer to serve on Health Check Teams.
Also, a basic health check would be better received an a loneliness check.
