 I am now an Uber driver |

I have logged a few Uber driving hours the past couple of evenings in Gainesville, Fl.
It's a bit slow right now with most of the UF kids still out of town. Without them, Gainesville is a pretty slow paced city. I'm sure the fact that it is the middle of the week is also a factor. I have averaged about 9 dollars an hour.
We'll see how it goes as we approach the weekend. I do believe that , even during slow times, someone could do quite well in any major city.

| I've been thinking about doing it on the side. Have you done the math on the wear and tear? Do you still come out to $9/hour? |

Certainly not. In my figure above I did not even factor in gasoline. I'm really just learning the ropes in hopes of relocating to a bigger city in the near future. I live 25 miles from Gainesville at the moment.

I will be following this post.
I signed up to drive in Tallahassee Fl. Got approved but found a better job in the process.
I manage a used car lot, (buy here pay here) about 2.5 hours from my home. If this works out like I hope it will, we will be relocating to Dublin Ga.
Dr has me on hold for a couple more weeks.

I really won't have a real sense of what's going on until the Fall school semester starts, or until I hit a big weekend event. For year round results, I think it has to be in a big city.
