Importing pastors or Missionaries to the USA |
Cojak |
I mentioned my Grandson Joshua in another post. Like other grand parents we try to keep up. Josh works in City Church music (Charlotte, NC). We try to catch their service on the net. I fond of the Irish and British accent. The pastor of City Church came over to the USA, from the UK methinks and organized City Church and it has grown to a solid church.
It was good thinking there are a lot of British citizens in Charlotte, so they attend. I likened it to the military towns I have lived and attended church. The others attending are also away from home and it becomes like a family.
The British guy is now headed back home and they held 'interviews'. They selected a new pastor.
I heard him last Sunday and figured he was Irish by the accent. But Josh informed me he was from South Africa.
Along that same line we have met COG members from Indonesia who come to the Charlotte area to evangelize on the streets and speak at churches when welcomed.
Are there other examples you know of along these lines?
Just curious. These folks are 'INSPIRED' some would class them as on fire!
I love to see and worship with them.. They are an inspiration.. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Hispanic church pastors |

I would guess this may fall under importing an out of country pastor for an existing local church. There are several Spanish speaking congregations who have "brought-in" a new pastor for Latin America.
Many of the Caribbean local churches I know of are led by a new pastor who came here specially to pastor that church (Jamaican, Haitian, Dominican, etc.).
Here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina I have met several South African ministry families who left (fled for their lives) and moved here. They are moving into being pastors of American churches.
