Post Paula White, Spiritual Advisor Change Agent
We don't have to worry now that Donald Trump has a new spiritual advisor, Paula White. They both have similar problems, been married 3 times, etc., love money.

Ought to be an interesting 4 years.

Just read where Trump asked congress to come up with pay for the wall. He has come up with very wealthy cabinet picks for the Swamp and looks like he may support reductions in Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security all of which he stated he would not touch.

Ought to be an interesting 4 years.

Who can we blame? TRUMP and his supporters.

He might get a really long list. If I were president, Paula White would probably not even be in my consideration set for such a thing.

But I don't know if its a good match. Trump wants a wall. Paula White was from 'the church without walls.'

I saw a video where he had about a dozen Charismatic preachers praying for him. I don't recall who all it was, but I'd imagine Paula White is better looking than the rest of them, and female.

I just looked it up and she's 50, btw, which is pretty amazing. I'd imagine she's got some skilled people helping her.

Dems are to blame.

If they hadn't selected the absolute worst candidate ever to run for President - no way Trump could have won.

Looks like NBF is going to blame Democrats for everything bad that Republicans say or do. Now there's a man that doesn't want Truth.

He will not be alone. Its seems that most Republicans are going to be in denial for 4 years. It will be time to resurrect some of the men (Bush) who were defeated by Trump, at least they are truthful Christians and will attempt to do what they say.

Post Don't know much about Paula White, but... Aaron Scott
But I remember visiting their church in Tampa back before they had become a mega church. I went to hear T. L. Lowery preach. It was a very modest-sized church in a VERY modest part of town.

If she got ahead by working hard and trying to reach people for Jesus, and if she made some bad decisions in her life, and if she somehow had enough good to say that it began to life her life, then GREAT!

I imagine that most of us have made bad decisions, too. I'm not going to disqualify someone from having a ministry (or WANTING them to have a ministry) so long as I feel that they are not acting cynically.

What's wrong with you folks?

Post The COG Apostle
I think the issue is that when one of our own has the slightest issue, we are ready to condemn them and run them out of the church. But, the celebrities get a pass. If a COG pastor had a Facebook page like Paula White, some of you would bring charges against them.

We aren't consistent with our judgments.

And what doctrine has she broken?

Has she declared that Jesus is not Lord?

Has she rejected that the scriptures are inspired?

Has she said that God is not a healer?

Or has she just interpreted some passages differently than you? Oh, wait--yeah, that's it.

You stated yourself that you "don't know much about" Paula White or her ministry. Do the research, then bring the subject of Mrs. White back to the table.

Post I wasn't going to say anything about this thread brotherjames
but...

I know a lot about Pastor White personally and from some others involved with her. Let's just say her doctrine is extremely shaky but beyond that her personal values are NOT what we would consider something we might want to emulate.

True story. One of our former students who is a great young man and a powerful evangelist called me one day for some advice. Evangelists are struggling to get bookings (especially those who are just starting out) and though he is semi well known in some circles he was in that boat of financial struggle and with a new small family to provide for too. He had been approached and offered a job as the Youth Pastor for Paula White's church in Orlando (New Destiny). He wanted to know what I thought about it. I told him to run, not walk away. Told him I thought her ethics if not her doctrine was poor. He listened politely but indicated he thought he could make an impact with the 700-1000 youth he would be ministering to each week and thought he could handle it. I prayed with him and left it there. Read Jer 42 sometime if you want to know what he was really doing. He just wanted my approval of what he had already decided to do. I'm not His Holy Spirit but I told him my opinion but it wasn't what he wanted. He called again a few months later. Seems two of his Youth sponsors we living together without the benefit of marriage and he felt it was terribly wrong for them to be upheld as role models to his youth. He asked me what he should do about it. I told him to pray and then go to Paula and ask her what she would do about it. He did so and she fired him. She said paraphrased that we don't make judgments like that around here and that they were big donors and she didn't want them upset and if he had a problem with that his services were no longer necessary. His value system (hopefully I had something to do with that) would not allow him to continue. In addition, he told me the push for money, the greed and extravagances in the church and Paula particularly were disgusting to him. I told him that is what I knew he would have a problem with. I am not suggesting Pastor White is NOT a Christian but I am suggesting her value system is out of whack. Call me a fruit inspector I guess but I would have nothing to do with her. And, having Donald Trump use her in any capacity doesn't surprise me but he doesn't know anything anyway about true Christianity and Paula White is not our best representative.

That is an awful story, Brotherjames, but I have to say I am not surprised.

Lest we forget, Randy & Paula White were in the Church of God back in the day, & he was a protege of Bro Lowery. They both could preach pretty good at one time.

I used to listen to Paula but haven't for several years. I did hear her say years ago that she was invited (years ago) to do Bible studies at Trump Towers and that someone in Trump's family, either his mother or grandmother was Pentecostal. So there is a bit of history there.

It's kind of scary that he might listen to Paula about the Bible, but at the same time, it gives me hope that he at least has some respect and reverence for the Bible and evangelicals, unlike the person who has been in office the last 8 years.

Even if Paula can't give him good advice, I would think that Franklin Graham, Samuel Rodiguez or Jentzen Franklin could. And if God could use a donkey...

Seriously??? Let's start with how many times she's been involved in adulterous affairs, oh, excuse me, I think it's called a "new season", starting with husband #2, Randy White ... This is truth, not fairy tail .. I pray for the protection of Donald Trump while she's around.
