Post Taking things personally from the pulpit Cojak
My dad referred it to "Praying over God's Shoulder!" He used that to describe sermons and loud prayers in church to 'correct' someone when he/she should make a personal approach with TRUE LOVE and compassion.
My wife not only tunes in to our home church services, but has 3 or 4 other services she goes to across the table from me. (Our PCs are in either side of the kitchen table here in the motor home)
On one service 3 weeks ago I heard a preacher make a statement that was 'not true.' Some hearers took it personally and must have discussed it on FB.
A week later he put a spin on the statement and went on to condemn the 'Damnable, ungodly FACEBOOK as a place of lies and distortions.
I laughed out loud since he was on FB at the time preaching.
I might be wrong, but is that weird? Confused Confused

It's funny but i used to hear that comment a lot especially from the older generation who believed that Facebook was just a tool to spread bad news.
You should have seen how tough it was to convince folks that we needed to conduct our services on social media.
I really hate/despise saying this, but when covid hit the community around us, our church leadership were able to make a successful appeal to conduct worship online.
Nowadays I hear the same people talking about the various worship services & songs they've heard on Facebook ...yes, the very site they detested about 2 years ago lol.

I can remember when the cost for broadcasting our Sun Morn service on the radio was $150 for the hour. And that was just to reach the county. Now it is virtually free and you get it live and recorded. AMAZING really.
Yes we get several different church services. It is good when we are on the road, we can still stay in touch with our local church.

There is definitely a down side to FB & U-tube. But having church services there is the PLUS! Cool
