If you're a pastor, you should be Podcasting.
It's simply a matter of:
(1) Subscribing to a Podcast Host like LibSyn or PodBean for $5 - $10 per month;
(2) Recording your Sunday message or, if you're feeling froggy, a studio quality teaching;
(3) and, optionally, taking the time to edit it.
WHY?
It is a great way for your congregation to have your message with them anytime, anywhere, to listen to or share.
It is a great way to publicly archive your messages.
It is a great way to grow your crowd by allowing non-members to hear your preaching.
WHAT IS A PODCAST?
A pre-recorded digital broadcast you can listen to on your computer or phone.
Your favorite speaker, author, comedian or celebrity probably has a Podcast. They are free. There are a TON people Podcasting.
For Christians, it's a great way to hear some Good News:
On your drive to work;
While you do dishes;
During a jog;
While mowing the grass
HOW TO GET PODCASTS?
On your ANDROID device, download a free Podcast app like PODCAST ADDICT, then search the name of the person you want to hear.
On your iPhone, download the free Podcast App and search the name of the person you want to hear.
For either type of device, just touch the "cloud" symbol next to the episode you'd like to download and you can hear it anytime!
If you SUBSCRIBE to a Podcast, each new episode automatically shows up on your phone.
Audio (sound only) podcasts take up very little memory.
HOW TO SHARE A PODCAST?
If you hear an episode that you think a friend would enjoy, you can touch the "outbox" symbol on the episode screen and share the link to the episode via Text Message, Facebook or Email.
