COG mourns the passing of Intern'l Youth Director David Blair

Bishop Tim Hill shared the news earlier of the passing of our International Youth Director, David Blair. He has been in the hospital in ICU with COVID for about 8 days. Many have called for prayer and fasting for this mighty man of God. I did not know him personally but I can see from the many posts of his dynamic love for God, his passion for reaching youth, and his dedication to the Kingdom of God. Please keep his wife Janet and his children in your prayers. I'm not sure how old he was, but he was young, in his 40s.

This is Dr. Hill's post today:

It is with great sadness I announce the passing of Dr. David Blair, International Director of Youth and Discipleship. Dr. Blair passed today, Sunday, March 21, after battling severe complications related to Covid.
This devastating loss will be felt by none greater than his precious wife, Janet; their children, Bruce and Brittani; daughter-in-law, KaLea; grandson, Charlie; father, Charles; and sister, Mollie; but will reverberate within the Department of Youth and Discipleship and globally throughout the Church of God. The International Executive Committee and I are calling Church of God leaders and members to fervent prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to cover Janet and the entire family with comfort and peace, then offer thanksgiving for the impact and legacy of Davidâ€™s ministry on each of us, and millions of others around the world.

We will continue to relay information concerning arrangements as it becomes available.

Only met David once

I met David when Pam Taylor died. He shook my hand and called me by name. He must have asked someone who I was. Also heard him preach once at S. Ga. Campground.

I have known his Dad, Charles since 1974. Charles pastored Adel Ga (I grew up about 15 miles from Adel) at lease two times. Good man good friend.

Davids mother, Joanne died of Covid last year.
