I don't remember that, but I do remember when the church of God was GROWING that SS was a big thing and we kids loved it.
There was a time when the spring SS 'contests' or what ever they were called were the biggest thing at our churches. My dad loved that.

My home church had that policy. After 3 Sunday's you wouldn't just get a Sunday School sheet, but your own personal Sunday School book filled with the lessons.
