Post Trump and Pence get morning sermon famousflavius
First Baptist Dallas Pastor Robert Jeffres preached a sermon to Trump and Pence before the inauguration today. He likened Trump to Nehemiah.

Nehemiah was a builder, he first built a wall and ignored his critics.

As I have suspected all along. Jeffress doesn't understand scripture.

Careful exegesis would show Nehemiah really has no solid scriptural comparison to Trump, the wall or his presidency.

Does that mean Priebus was wrong to compare trump to Jesus?

A stretch indeed. I have great respect for John Piper. He are his thoughts...

For those interested here is my message this past Sunday at City Church. It's entitled "It Would Take a Miracle to Heal our Nation."

Nehemiah built a wall around Jerusalem & Trump will build a wall around America.

I see the analogy w/out having to go too deep into the exegesis or theological analogies.
It was a sermon to encourage & uplift the incoming President & VP that God has allowed to be elected (Dan. 2)

Pastor Jeffres has been a Trump supporter all along & I like the idea that Trump enjoys hearing from Pastor Jeffres as a spiritual advisor.

At least Trump is open to hearing from Christians. Would you rather his ear be tuned to the Muslim Imams? Golf Cart Mafia Soldier

I have listened to the first half (and may listen to the second half later). I think you are right on target.

Faulty exegesis fer shore. Correct exegesis would reveal that Roger Waters is the true contemporary counterpart of Nehemiah. It was Waters who wrote “THE WALL.” Cool

Only a bunch of negative nellies couldnt see that nehemiah built a wall ... And trump wants to build a wall... And there are similarities. Personally, i would have preferred Trump be compared to God in the garden of eden....kicking out those that didnt belong and putting a guard up to keep them out. How's that. Evil or Very Mad

He might have been more like the Benjamites who hid in the vineyard and when the girls came out to dance, he grabbed him one.

I listened to the second half, and it was very good also.
(I also liked the feature that when I went to the link the second time, it took up right where I left off.)
