Just because nobody did it before, does not mean it shouldn't be done. The goal of the game is to take advantage of every situation to win, AS LONG as it is within the rules of the game. Seems in this case, the defenders were caught sleeping ASSUMING it would not be done. That's my opinion, what's yours?

Since I do not follow sports, I think it is taken too seriously to the point of this sort of stupid actions. Shocked Cool

Death threats over a baseball game are idiotic - plain and simple.

That said, down 3-0 in the 9th, probably shouldn't do it. If it were a 1-0 game, ok...try to get the tying run on base. There are 2 outs left in a game and you're down by 3...it's a little bush league. However, getting a runner on base and hoping for some momentum is a viable argument. Play to win.

since a 3 run lead is nothing like a 3 touchdown lead and can be erased with 3 pitches, even with 2 outs, then I say bunt away. I love baseball, I hate manufactured records. Want to throw a no-hitter? Then play the whole game. MLB soiled records recently when they opted for the no-pitch walk, something that effects pitching and entire games, so I don't have much patience for this whining. Golf Cart Mafia Consigliere

That's about as dumb as it gets. There's an unwritten rule against trying to win a game that's easily in reach? I agree with UncleJD, if you want a no-hitter, earn one.

Everyone who came off the bench should be fined and the people making death threats should be prosecuted.

That said, I'm not sure the defenders were sleeping. 1B was ready for the ball and the pitcher got to it as fast as he could. Catcher didn't have a line on it either. It was just a really lucky, solid bunt.
