FINALLY!!! I found out what pinecones are for! |
Aaron Scott |
It took a while--and a revelation--but I finally know.
No, can't tell you now. Saving it for another time. But you're welcome to guess and I'll be glad to tell you if you're right. |

To protect the seeds so that the trees can reproduce.
Or to put in the governesses' chair after a tough first day at work. _________________ Link |

To teach the Fibonacci sequence.
To decorate like a Christmas tree. (We did that in fourth grade and I really enjoyed it.)
To throw onto the bonfire after you've given your testimony. (We did that at an event held by another church that some of my brother's friends went to when I was a young teen or pre-teen, and I still remember the leader saying, "Throw a pine cone in the fire!") |

You can use a pine cone as a suet feeder (Pic) |

I have used a pine cone as a suet feeder for the birds before.

I would tell you all, but I'm afraid that you would dismiss it.... |
Aaron Scott |
But after, literally, a couple of years of pondering this every now and then, it finally hit me.
Now, there may be some incredible medical breakthrough that will come from pinecones...or perhaps the solution to the world's energy problems. But there is something else that it's for that is so much simpler, so much humbler, and yet utterly profound, I believe. |

Now you're just teasing me. When you say simple yet profound that takes me back to Link's statement about protecting the seed so the tree can reproduce, which is the essential reason for the pine cone.
Maybe we will dismiss it, but you've generated enough suspense that I think you should take the risk and tell us.
Btw, here's a picture of shovel heads (from the web).

No suspense here.
I am sure we will all be underwhelmed. _________________ Whether you like it or not, learn to love it, because its the best thing going today! |

Pinecones can be inspirations for creativity with food. I made a "pinecone" cheese ball for a Christmas party a few years ago.
It looked something like this.

I like 'em for a quick fire, or a starter for a good camp fire as has already been stated. But, but I am waiting!!! _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Don't blame ignorance on pine cones, they can't defend themselves (Unless someone THROWS 'em like Jlarry says! _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

A hint? |
Aaron Scott |
I am not trying to string anyone along. But unless you "get" the "revelation," you will likely feel that my answer is mocking--or to be mocked.
So I will give you a hint, and I'll leave it at that. As I said, pinecones can be useful for many things. But I believe the one we are missing may be the one that is the most meaningful to God.
Here's the hint: If you replace the word "pinecones" with "mountains" or "stars," you could reach the same conclusion.
And that is that. |
