The New Testament does not try to split Jesus from Christ.
Speaking of the baby Jesus of Nazareth, Holy Writ says:
And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. Luke 2:25-26 NASB
Likewise, the inspired Scriptures refer to the One mediator between God and mankind as "the man Christ Jesus."
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Tim 2:5 NASB
He is the eternal Word which was with God and was God, as John 1:1 says, which became flesh/incarnate:
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 NASB |
