I have a DVD player that will access the internet. I have a subscription to Netflix. It cost about 10 buck a month. A lot of older movies. You will need a minimum of 3meg DSL service to watch Netflix. |

We have Amazon Prime but don't use that much. We use a program called Kodi. I don't really understand how it works. LOL _________________ "More of Him...less of me."

Cojak as I don't know a lot about it, but trying to find if this is what we want. I have been out of work for a while and do not have cable or satellite so we/I am looking for the lease expensive way to get more TV.
As I understand it with the Fire stick and other devices like it we can access via the internet several TV networks and programs.
I have Amazon Prime which we can access many movies. I am not much into movies, in fact I have never used Prime to watch a movie. We also have Netflix. We have used Netflix. They have movies, and many TV programs. when I see an R rating I don't bother to check it out. I find bad language very disgusting.
I do not want to go back to paying for Satellite. I miss some programming and very much miss being able to record programs to watch later.
In the age of technology there are much less expensive ways to get good programs. That's what I am after.
For the record I am not complaining/whining about being out of work. I have a couple things in the making and while I have been unemployed the Lord has provided. He has always been faithful. _________________ Recorded Sermons @ www.pastorwiley.com

Here's a link to it from Wikipedia. Way over my head, but we have the older version.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Fire_TV#Fire_TV_Stick
It's sold at Best Buy for around $40. My suggestion would be to go into Best Buy & let one of those nice young fellows explain it.
We use a program called Kodi to access the TV shows, and there are other programs within it whereby you can access movies, TV series, etc. I have used it to watch entire series of some of my favorites. You must have internet access. You can also pay for something called Sling TV to access its programs. You might have to wait till the next day to watch new shows of a continuing series, but they are usually available shortly after they've aired.
You can watch any TV series ever on, and pretty much any movie unless it's new. I pulled up Cagney & Lacey from 1969 & it downloaded the entire series. (Which I found incredibly slow-moving today! LOL)
My hubby & son in law have handled the computer/geek side of this, so I have a limited understanding of it, but it's pretty much all I use now. Hope this helps... _________________ "More of Him...less of me."

We don't want to have cable installed nor the dish at our little house in Deltona, FL. I only check ways to get the internet, TV is out for us and I cannot watch Movies either because of the sound.
Anyway, thanks for the info and I will check it out at Best Buy if we EVER move into our house. WE are still in the back yard. We use the house for a guest house and to meet friends when they come over. LOL
This motor home is just too convenient for us, we are having a problem separating from it.
Again Thanks. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

It works well as long as you have good internet service. You can subscribe to Sling TV to get a basic cable package. It's much cheaper than satellite. _________________ "[Jesus] will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end." - Nicene Creed |
