Do y'all sing hymns? What's your favorite? |
Dave Dorsey |
Our church has a modern praise band (keyboards, drums, electric guitar, bass, etc.) but does a blend of contemporary songs and hymns. Usually the hymns are in a modern contemporary style.
How about y'all? |

That's a good one. So far as older hymns go, I really like Come Thou Fount, It Is Well and When I Survey the Wondrous Cross and basically anything else by Isaac Watts.
I also like modern hymns (meaning hymns that have been written recently, not modern style). In Christ Alone is my absolute favorite. I also like How Deep the Father’s Love for Us.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart –
His wounds have paid my ransom. |

Heaven's Jubilee
Keep on the Firing Line
The Old Gospel Ship
Just to name a few.
We also mix old and new.
Works for us. _________________ Charles A. Hutchins

Hymns vs. The Hymnal |
Aaron Scott |
I know a number of the older hymns (i.e., Wesley hymns and the such), and I like them. But I grew up on the Redback Hymnal. And so page 110 (Heaven's Jubilee), We Shall See the King, Living By Faith, on and on, are the ones that move me the most. |

Nope, no hymns for us, we only have the songs that make no sense. |
