Tire prayer request... follow up All went well, I do believe in prayer!.. |
Cojak |
Our home has been bouncing and riding rough. We are headed for Williamsburg so I have already arranged for new tires on the front, balance and alignment. It is only 160 miles away. i saw no problem with that. I have been checking the tires regularly. The only problem I have noticed was the very un even wearing.
BUT today I ran my hand over the left front tire and felt steel belt spikes. I don't mind the blow outs. I have had blowouts all round this RV with no problem. The problem is most of tomorrows trip will be on two lane back roads. A blow out there is a major problem. I have experienced that in Pennsylvania a few years ago. A back tire blow out is no biggie, we can limp in or to a parking area, but this is the left front tire, I sit over it as I drive. OUCH.
I really do desire your prayers. This situation is my doing, time wise, but the Lord has protected us for 20 years on the road, but this is the first time I have pushed something this close. Sorry, this may sound trivial to some.
Thanks in advance.
When I first bought a large coach I asked where is the spare? The dealer asked in return, "What would you do with it if you had one?" (The tire and wheel is over 100 lbs) _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Praying for safe travels, Cojak. I'm sure you'll get this changed ASAP!
When we were traveling in a motor home, we once lost a tire on the rear (one of two on both sides) traveling down the interstate. We had to be towed in to a gas station - the closest thing there - and spent the night locked in the pit/work area that night. Only time we ever had popcorn for supper! LOL It was also one of the few times were were late to a booking.
The Lord watched out over us and kept us from harm many times. Several miracles! Maybe someday I'll write that book "On the Road Again" that I've talked about for years.
(Did I ever tell you about the time John caught the engine on fire next to a gas pump?) _________________ "More of Him...less of me."

Thanks folks. We are here in Williamsburg. The tire looks terrible, but still up. WE are 10 miles from the mechanic for tires and alignment, all scheduled.
Just to say my fears were true, the road was so narrow we had to nearly stop three times and put the mirrors in the bushes, with right tires off the road to clear. with logging trucks. BUT neither of us were worried, I felt safe. It was easy to see NO ROOM to pull off if there was a blow out. WE were on those roads for 50 miles. WE passed close enough to say hi and had a big laugh. WOW a road with a yellow line in the center sure looked good.
Anyway THANKS for the prayers and thoughts. I WILL plan better! I told my wife I had asked for support in prayer here and she said, "GREAT, you done good!"
Anyway ALL IS WELL! _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
