Excited for Pastor Horton and his growing congregation. They are opening their new facility this weekend. _________________ Live an epiK life!

Boy have I lived under a rock. I have a son that lives close to Holiday. DAvid was just a kid when our dad's pastored close together. I ran with Johnny. I am assuming that David is Wade's baby boy.
I'm not surprised that some COG pastors would like to have Copeland preach, I am just surprised he would find time to come to Holiday... Just sayin'.
I may be way off base, even David that I knew would be in his late 60-early 70s now.
After looking at the website. If David is kin to The Wade Horton, he must be a grandson. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

According to this website, http://www.cprf.co.uk/articles/copeland.htm#.W4hoN15KjIV, Copeland has said,
"God’s reason for creating Adam was His desire to reproduce Himself … Adam is as much like God as you could get, just the same as Jesus … Adam, in the Garden of Eden, was God manifested in the flesh."
And according to a post on this site, http://www.gracecentered.com/christian_forums/theology/kenneth-copeland-quotes/, he said or wrote the following:
'You don't have a god in you, you are one!'
(Ken Copeland, 'The Force Of Love Audiotape,' 1987)
'Adam in the Garden of Eden, was God manifested in the flesh.'
(Ken Copeland, 'Following the Faith of Abraham I.')
'God's reason for creating Adam was His desire to reproduce Himself...He was not a little like God. He was not almost like God. He was not subordinate to God even.'
(Ken Copeland, 'Following the Faith of Abraham I.')
'And I say this with all respect, so that it don't upset you too bad. But I say it anyway: When I read in the Bible where He says, 'I Am,' I just smile and say, 'Yes, I Am, too.'
(Ken Copeland, 'The Believers Voice of Victory,' July 9, 1987) _________________ Link |

Hey Link,
Me 'n Copeland differ on a lot of that, just sayin'.
However he will draw a crowd, and some of them will stay at the church, that is one advantage.... _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

David Horton is the son of Doc Horton, former state overseer, pastor & evangelist. He has long had a teaching/overseas crusade ministry & has re-connected with the church of his youth over the last five years.
He and the Copelands have been close friends for 25+ years.
His son, Christopher Horton, was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2011. His daughter-in-law, Jane Horton, now is a Presidential appointee to the DOD/Pentagon. Their story is powerful.

David's dad Doc taught at Rhema Bible School, Kenneth Hagin's school.
From 86-93 I pastored Concord CoG in Smyrna Ga. Doc was Concord's founding pastor.
The last I heard from David he and Demond Wilson (Red Foxx TV son) was evangelizing together.
I did not know David was pastoring in Fl. _________________ Recorded Sermons @ www.pastorwiley.com

Testing the post-OTCP waters Phil? Out of respect for Doc Horton and his family, I won't bite this time. |

He might have also invited OTCP to that same service to narrate the video where Copeland and Howard-Browne tell jokes in tongues.
We used to get that posted about once every 6 months when OTCP was here.
This could be a service for the ages. _________________ Whether you like it or not, learn to love it, because its the best thing going today! |

I'm not sure why, Link, but some folks seem unable to recognize this as obvious heresy.
I'm not sure how someone could read quotes about how Adam was equal to God and not subordinate to God and not mark that guy as a teacher to avoid, but here we are. |

Mine either. I regularly am compelled by my conscience to point out and warn against the heretical nature of WoF/Kenyonism.

I'll be the first to say that I don't think it's healthy to throw the H-word around. Perhaps some people do that so much that we've become desensitized to it. Heresy is an extremely serious charge.
But... how does this not qualify? How are the quotes Link shared anything but heresy? And I listened to Copeland for years before God graciously rescued me from WoF theology. Those quotes are not, in my opinion, misrepresentations of what he teaches. |

A bunch of cut up little snippets. Of someone speaking can make anyone sound bad. I get what Copeland is saying. He was referring to Jesus being the second Adam. I will say this.
Read Romans 5
I never heard Copeland say there any other way to heaven but through Jesus Christ
You want to cut down Rodney Howard Browne. I am telling you he is a man of God, Power, and miracles. I remember one time sowing and within 14 hrs a harvest many times what I have came back. I have experienced God using Rodney many times.
Read up on Rodney watch what he is doing now. His church in Tampa is impacting what is probably one of the least churched parts of the country in an extremely hurting and improvished area. Most fail with the type of ministry he is doing. Rodney is excelling and growing where he is at. Rapidly expanding his ministry. |

Thanks Phil, over the years I have heard the name Doc Horton, but never knew of him. I do appreciate the information. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
