Church Conflict May Be Just What We Need |
Daniel Rushing |
Hello Actscelerate! It's been a long time. I wanted to jump on here and share a recent blog I wrote. I work with a lot of churches that are stuck. And what I've discovered is that many of them are just one church fight away from a break through. So here are some of my thoughts about having a robust theology of conflict. I think we need it!

YOu do point out some good things. Problem is many 'conflicts' are trivial but explosive. i.e. who plays the piano, who is in the praise team or just do not like the preacher!
But yes I can see your points....
Good to see you post. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Good article. The question it raises in my mind is...is it a healthy conflict? Or is there a healthy way to deal with conflict...so that it causes us/the church to grow? Seems like we all have experiences with unhealthy conflicts/ways to deal with conflict. Would love to see more in that vein.
Good to see you posting, Daniel! _________________ "More of Him...less of me."

Conflicts that will improve are a lot better than being stuck without hope that things will get better. Most conflicts I have knowledge of get to be "my way or the highway choices". So if you are not the person in authority you hit the highway.
Good article. |

Sadly the highlighted statement is how most conflicts are handled in our denomination.
PS: Although it is sad, it is sometimes the only answer to a 'trivial' conflict involving personalities. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
