It seems like I learned in Old Testament class in college that Baal and Bel were considered to be two different entities. It is believed that Bel was a title for Babylonian Marduk.

I've seen the opening parade for the Olympics before when people are dancing around with images of Zeus. I'm not a world-class athlete, but I don't think I'd want to participate in something that's supposed to be the continuation of a pagan celebration.
