I saw an ad promoting Joel Osteen's upcoming "Night of Hope" in Las Vegas.  I've never been to one of them but I would imagine that the event would be really excellent.
 
 
    Of course I don't endorse everything that Joel says or does, but he does draw a lot of people to these events. Most of them are not attached to a church and many do not have a "faith" community or background.
 
 
   It seems to be an excellent way to reach new people, to possibly help some of them make a new start in life and a new beginning with the issue of faith.  I understand that their names are then given to local churches to follow up.  Billy Graham did that too and very effectively.
