Master Sargent Billy Herron has passed away. His Father was Doyle Herron and pastored in NC, Ga and FL. Billy was a dedicated Christian and a Soldier. He served both God and his Country with the love of a Christian.
Billy served nearly 40 years in the AF and Army. He also served as a church clerk for about 40 years. He was 93 I think. His pastors spoke highly of him and he served the COG well. I was proud to know him.
His Brother Jimmy pastored in NC and was also loved and appreciated. A Brother Kenny, also served as a church clerk. His pastor once told me when Snow prevented Church Kenny put chains on his tires and went to the folks who were regular tithe payers, and was able to pay the pastor or a struggling church. Rev. Doyle taught his sons well.
