I get the idea that Dr Conn was being honored in a wide selection of honorees & it just so happens one of them is a gay man, former student, who is married to a man & we the CoG stand firmly against this lifestyle.
The event was held at Lee Univ. which is considered CoG property.
If it's ok to invite one of such sin to that event would it be ok to have the same man sing at our next GA?
Would we invite the local owner of the cannabis dispensary to honor one of us if he has a good voice?
Somewhere along the way it will be considered "OK" to invite special guest who live alternative lifestyles to our 'Holy' events & it will be condoned & justified.
My 78 year old dad (who is senior pastor at the Oasis Christian Center CoG) has been a CoG minister since he was 17 & fortunately he doesn't read things on social media, but if he read this he would be beside himself asking who could do such a thing.
"Has compromise entered the hallowed halls of our most prestigious school?"
I hear the old Andrae Crouch song playing in the distance, "It won't be long"
