That applies to Democrats and Republicans.

What is the The Smoke Screen? ... Its the Super Delegates whom are not bound to vote according to the popular vote.

ie. a vote for a leading politician could be close to the runner up but he is still ahead by virtue of of popular and electoral votes. However the Super delegates could vote for the runner up simply because they are not pledged to the popular vote, Thus swinging the runner up as the winner. Thus making your vote one that carries less weight , or any weight at all , than our forefathers designed.

The Democratic party is even more corrupt with this matter;
Wikipedia Source
Quote:

Another difference between pledged PLEOs and unpledged PLEOs is that there is a fixed number of pledged PLEO slots for each state, while
the number of unpledged PLEOs can change during the campaign.

Quote:

The Democratic Party has faced accusations that it has been
conducting its nominating process in an undemocratic way,

because superdelegates are generally chosen without regard
to their preferences in the presidential race and are not
obligated to support the candidate chosen by the voters.

The purpose of superdelegates is for high-ranking Democrats
to maintain some control over the nominating process.

The republicans are not without blemish either;

Quote:

Out of 2,470 total delegates at the Republican National
Convention in 2016, 437 are unpledged delegates, who play
the same role as superdelegates.
Of the 437, 168 are
members of the Republican National Committee.

In summary your vote aint what you think it is and someday
it will be totally worthless because of these power hungry
politicians.

This is not how our fore Fathers set this up using super delegates

Happy Voting.

You are right about the superdelegates, especially in the UN-DemocratiK party. The Republican equivelant are supposed to vote with the majority of their state as I recall.

The electoral college, though, is how the President is elected in the general election. It is 100% the idea and implementation of the Founders. It is one of the most important states' rights provisions in the constitution.

It Was until the introduction of super delegates. The republican super delegates are essentially the same. they are not bound to the popular vote.

And heres something to think about;
Quote:
it is simply a fail-safe tool for the party to make sure that they don’t nominate someone who can’t handle the job.”

What they are saying here is that we are stupid and may not be capable of electing a qualified individual. So they , who are well above all of us , will have to do the task for us.
