Post Bishop Hill Appointed to White House Council Carolyn Smith
From Faith News Network:

Hill Appointed to White House Council

On April 15, Dr. Timothy M. Hill, General Overseer of the Church of God, was notified by the White House that he had been appointed by President Donald J. Trump to serve on the President’s Interfaith Advisory Council.

This council, made up of some 20 or so faith-based leaders from across the country, will serve as an advisory board to President Trump concerning religious and faith issues as our nation comes out from under the “shut” down/stay-at-home” orders in the coming weeks and months.

Different advisory councils have been appointed by the President to address specific areas of the economic, business, and faith communities. According to the President’s earlier comments, the advisory councils will help him decide when – and how – different portions of the country can start down a path towards normal following the coronavirus pandemic.

When informed of his appointment, Hill stated, “I am highly honored to be appointed to this advisory position by the President of the United States. This is not about politics but is simply about getting our country restarted, especially in regards to our faith community. The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ has stepped forward in a powerful way finding new ways to keep spreading gospel hope. So, I am glad that churches will be well represented within the White House and I look forward to specifically representing the Church of God and our Pentecostal heritage.”

It is expected that the Interfaith Advisory Council will meet electronically within the next several days.

That's great news. Do you know if there's a list of any of the other members? [Insert Acts Pun Here]

It doesn't seem to be readily available. I know Paula White is on it, as is Jentezen Franklin. I looked on Google and it brought up several links re: Elizabeth Warren's interfaith advisory board. Even when I put in President Trump and Evangelical Advisory Board, it doesn't seem to show anything new or even a list that I could find.

Post Big Waste of Time FG Minister
A board advising Donald Trump about any issue is a big waste of time. He's a self-proclaimed genius and has good hunches. Why does a genius with good hunches need advice? He doesn't.

Mr. President - you are the greatest president in the history of our republic. We are honored to have you living in the White House. Your demeanor, your intellect, and your very presence are undeserved in this country. You are great!

It is nothing more than pandering to the base. That’s all.

Post Mr. Trump Cares Nothing About Evangelicals FG Minister
He cares nothing about what we stand for. He gives us what we want because we give him what he wants - votes. Be not deceived - Trump is NOT one of us.

And before the attacks begin, yes, the democrats would be much much worse and I will vote for Trump. But I'm not deceived and do not blindly support his behavior like so many evangelicals do.

"Criticism = someone is living rent free in your head" has always seemed like the lamest argument to me.

Apparently you're not ever allowed to disagree with or think critically of someone, because if you do it means they control you or something. It doesn't get much weaker than that.

This is gossip at best and runs the risk of being libel at worst. I just remembered that Doyle asked me to ban you after the last time you did this, and I never did. I have corrected that mistake and would ask you to contact writedoyle@gmail.com with any further questions or to have the ban removed.

I don't know the answer to either question. Dems pander to the black community and never deliver. Trump might be pandering to the evangelical community but he does deliver. It is a two way street for now.

That said, you can expect dems to come out with a vengeance against evangelicals once they have power again.

Post not deceived excellentposter
I am so glad to hear that FG Minister is "not deceived". I have observed that we have some ministers who although they struggle to pastor their little churches love to criticize our president on what he is doing wrong and question his motives on everything he does. WOW!

Bring on the microscopes to our pastors' offices.

Post Be Careful FG Minister
One sign of a good debater is the ability to stay on topic and not divert attention to shiny objects and squirrels. The size of my congregation (300+) is not the issue, nor my ability or inability to pastor it. Neither do I question the motives of "everything" Trump does. Nor did I say I was perfect and could survive a microscopic look at my life and office.

So please don't try to divert the discussion to make it about those of us who are opposed to adultery, lying, slander, profanity, and self-centeredness. Mr. Trump's policies have primarily supported the Bible I read and I even like most of his fiscal and foreign policy decisions.

I simply stated that he is not an evangelical and panders to us to get our votes. That's all I said. He does not walk like an evangelical, does not swim like an evangelical, and does not quack like an evangelical. Therefore, he ain't one.

Quick, get the word to Bishop Timothy Hill not to waste his time. And think, I had thought it was an honor for Dr. Hill and our denomination that he had been appointed to this board.

I was wrong again.

So you would have supported Joseph bowing out than to be an adviser to Pharoah?

Should Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego have turned down being advisers when appointed by King Nebuchadnezzar?

FG, I find it interesting your focus is on resumes as opposed to a godly man influencing the president and helping guide a nation. Is your church a resume builder to you?
