Post On abortion UncleJD
Let me first unequivocally state that abortion is murder and should not be legal. It is a scourge on our society in every way.

However, does there come a time when we throw up our hands (politically) and handle it like God did when he gave them the land of Canaan? Those that sacrificed their children to Molech or Baal were given as a reason that God would destroy them and give the land to His children.

Do we ever say, "God give us an inheritance in the land and cut off the children of the wicked?" If the wicked want to cut off their inheritance and demand such things, while the Children of God decide to go the opposite way and return to a lifestyle that places family above material wealth, then what will happen in 2 or 3 generations? Would we who raise Godly children then inherit the land?

These questions have been coming to me lately in light of the fact that there does not seem to be a political solution to abortion. We (conservatives) have had majorities in congress and in the executive branch off and on for 45 years and nothing has changed other than those demanding it are getting louder and more and more vile every day.

Please refrain from political solutions in this thread, what is the Biblical response for dealing with the wicked and their culture of death?

I believe it is to show them the example of Biblical family by producing Godly offspring while remaining firm that we won't sacrifice our children to Molek, money, or the god of self.

'Christian' culture in the US and Europe must be changed to stop rejecting God's first commandment to mankind to be fruitful and multiply and take dominion. When evangelicals stop seeing children as a burden and instead begin to think scripturally of children as a blessing and an heritage from the Lord, perhaps we will then have a more substantial impact on the culture, because we will not be seen as hypocrites about the issue anymore.

When large families are regularly made fun of by supposedly Bible-believing Christians and ministers, and having anything more than 3 children by a couple is viewed as crazy, the obvious implication is that our church culture simply doesn't think biblically about the importance of being fruitful and multiplying with a view to outbreeding the ungodly by raising up a godly generation.

I am an economics guy, that is just the way I think but...

We are currently looking at over 58 million legal abortions since Roe v. Wade. I believe this has had a terrible moral effect on our society. The spirit of it is one of violence. It is a rebellion against God. Abortion plays God in choosing who lives. It says we are not thankful for life. Unthankful...unholy. The fact is also many people who call themselves Christian have also taken part in this. Talk to someone who works at a crisis pregnancy center and they will open your eyes to this.

Economically, though, think what having 58 million less people in the population has done to us. How much intelligence has been killed in the name of convenience? Our work force now is dependent on Mexico because our population is not growing fast enough. Wonder if abortion had something to do with that? There will not be enough workers to support social security. Again, I wonder if all those abortions had something to do with that? Then there is the greater multiplier effect of those children who would have had children. What is the long term economic effect on our society? It cannot be calculated. Only God knows.

Our only hope is repentance. It begins in the church as QW has already attested. Our society...ALL of it...values convenience and stuff over what God said was good and a heritage from Him. So we get what we(as a society want and value, while what is really valuable is killed.

You are exactly right. The Muslims coming into a Christian country pride themselves on out breeding the Christians. The Church has bought into the progressive view of families just as much as the world. Its time to preach that children truly are the inheritance of the Lord.
