Verdict just in - she won! |

From my source, a friend of CARRA:
UPDATE: CARRA WON!!!!!!!
The jury came back this afternoon with the decision that Jan Crouch had a 45% liability for a $2,000,000 judgment amount. My source tells me that TBN already said they would appeal. No doubt they will spend more than the $900,000 on attorney costs to do so -- but I'm sure that's fine and dandy with the legal sharks.
At least this is a psychological win for Carra - but it might not cover her student loans after her own legal fees come out of the amount, if and when it's paid. The big, giant disappointment is how all of this has been pretty much ignored by the Christian media. The institutional church doesn't give a rip. They will continue to wage their own public relations campaign by ignoring anything that gets in the way of their use of the airways. They've struck a deal with the devil -- they lose in the long run.[/code] |

May God bless the poor girl and heal her heart and mind with the balm of Gilead! What a shameful mess, like so much of TBN!
1 Tim 5:24 (NET) The sins of some people are obvious, going before them into judgment, but for others, they show up later. 25Similarly, good works are also obvious, and the ones that are not cannot remain hidden. |

One of the truest statements I've heard in a while. |

This is a messed up story. It is also so sad.
I can understand why a Pentecostal grandmother might blame a granddaughter hearing that she let a boy in the room. That might make a grandma angry. Then she gets to the possible rape part, and she blames the girl. That ain't right, but I could see how it could happen.
The thing is, if her parents were away, why wasn't Jan Crouch watching her 13-year-old granddaughter? How old was this cousin who was with her? Why would she blame the little girl if the cousin was older? Who pays the bills for alcoholic beverages served as room service to hotel rooms? Did Jan Crouch ever teach the girl not to have boys in her room?
I've got a 14, almost 15-year-old boy and I don't give him that much freedom. If the cousin was a bit older, it may make sense.
Why is she suing her grandmother and not the (alleged) rapist? Was he ever prosecuted? Is she a believer? Why sue fellow believers in a court of law before unbelievers if this is the case?
This is a sad case all around. It must have been very traumatic for the girl. It reminds us to be very careful with our children.
I don't keep up with TBN. This was the first I read of Jan Crouch passing away. I read a little and it seems Matt Crouch is running the organization. I hope they get away from the family run organization model, set up a committee, and let some theologically responsible people decide what kind of programming goes on there and how to handle the fundraising. _________________ Link |

There is just SOMETHING about power and money. The humans who climb a ladder too fast and have millions of $ at their disposal seem to lose track of reality. They also seem to feel they are 'super special' in God's eyes methinks. Even above 'others'. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
