Searching church of God on Youtube is scary... No wonder people think we are a cult when the top videos are extremely negative. First 2 video on youtube are titled my experience with the "church of God" Cult, and Some guy named godless glen that is really upset with the church of God youth ranch. what are some ways to fix this. i am first Generation church of God and my family thinks i am in a cult because of all the negativity online. Also there are a lot of crazies that have very similar names as the Church of God that give us a bad rep.

Filth city.

If a dirt bag like that doesn't like the church of god, I say it reflects WELL on the church of god.

I hope he accepts Jesus one day.

Lot of hate in this dude. I am sure there are thousands who have followed the 'dream' as taught by others and have been disappointed because money did not fall out of the sky to cover debts.

I pity him. Much (most) of our problems are our own fault. To overcome you must face your own errors. Some are tough!

I watched and listened and hurt for him. I have been raised in the COG and certainly never came close to feeling nor talking like him. But I have had my times of severe disappointment with some experiences in the COG.

What he said and what he did by putting up that video is ugly and filled with almost unthinkable hatred. But, I did not hear blaspheme the Holy Ghost. So I don't, at least not in the video, see him having committed the unpardonable sin. If he should come to himself and repent, the Lord I know will forgive him. Seems to me he mostly got his eyes on men and off of God.

And if I knew him and where he is I would certainly be willing to talk with him and pray with him. I really feel sorry for him and what he has gone through to come to such a state.

I think everyone involved in ministry has been hurt or disappointed at some point in their ministry, but you can't let it turn you against God and everyone in the COG. "Godless Glen" definitely needs some help & counsel from a wise soul!

Back to the original post...perhaps you could point your relatives towards some particular COGs that are known to have good services which are posted online. I'm sure you can find some messages online that would better portray the COG.
