Any special efforts to provide for those in need during this time? |
Link |
Are any churches out there setting up a special fund or doing any initiatives to provide for those in the congregation or outside of it with basic needs like food or toiletries, rent, etc. during this time?
I notice some churches give a lot overseas, but may not have much set up for their own members. Other churches have benevolence funds. There may be a high demand for those funds right now.
Paul says to do good to all men, especially them that believe. The church in Jerusalem fed their own Christian widows and 'the list' for widows Paul wrote Timothy about would have been for certain highly qualified Christian widows. It is by our love one for another that the whole world knows that we are Jesus' disciples. My point is that we Christians should be taking care of our own.
Has anyone set something up that they want to offer here as a model to emulate? There may be people out there who are working who are willing to give if they have something to give to. _________________ Link |

We have been livestreaming |

on FB & YT and yesterday announced that we would take prayer requests and requests for help on our website and FB. Our food pantry is running low but we are doing drive up grocery distribution. We had a lady on FB that we have prayed for at previous outreaches, ask us for help with food and she had no way to get to our church as she has no money for gas, so we delivered some basics to her including paper supplies. We are livestreaming daily worship and prayer meetings and will tonight also but we will allow up to 50 to congregate in person also as allowed by the governor. |
