Post E.L. (Buddy) Turner has reached his reward. Cojak
My wife just received a call from Doris Turner verifying the death of Buddy Turner.

I met Buddy Turner in Florida where he was raising Missions Funds. He and his wonderful wife Doris were our guests in Florida for a couple nights.

A more dedicated and congenial man would be hard to find.

Obituary for Rev. Elmer Lee Turner

He continued preaching most every Sunday in churches across the states of NC and FL raising funds for mission projects. His last sermon was July 16, 2017 at China Grove Church of God.

Buddy and I had something in common. He had pastored Valdese, NC and I had pestered it, when Dad was pastor in the early 1950s.

When I mentioned meeting Buddy a couple of the members and one former member of the church had high praises for His pastoral ability and dedication. I had hoped to see Buddy and Doris again this winter in Florida. We will miss them although our friendship goes back only 3 years. Some friendships make a lasting impression, HIS DID!

Rest in peace my friend and enjoy your NEW adventure! Cool

Buddy and I have several friends in common, as many of the older ministers do. Strange, I asked once of a missions Executive if he knew E.L. Turner. His answer was, "Of course Everyone knows Buddy, he is one of our best supporters."

I was proud to know E.L. I have no doubt, he has made it home. I hope someday some one can and will say that. No greater testimony!

Like many old folk at times I read the obituaries. When I do I usually think, one day soon, my picture will be here. I smile and say to myself, that will be a good day for me. See you soon Buddy, You made it!
