Missionary Itineration |

The joy of missionary itineration. Inspiring congregations to become more involved in missions and seeing young people respond to the Call of God to full time cross cultural ministry. Recently I was invited to speak at a small church where a few years ago they were doing very little for missions. Their reason was, as a small church "they had never been given an opportunity". Since the visit of the mission rep who introduced Scotland to them and presented them not only an opportunity but also a plan on how to be more involved. This small church has given THOUSANDS of dollars to missions and missionaries. They have been involved in traveling to and ministry in, Europe, Africa, Honduras, Ecuador, and Nicaragua. These kind of congregations and pastors make all the travel and preparations a JOY for missionary itineration. BTY, God has blessed this small congregation!!! They have just sold their church building and parsonage, made an offer on a plot of land, and have drawn up plans to build a multi-ministry international center to seat 300 people!! _________________ Dennis Tanner

My good friend Fred Brannen had plans to visit small congregations with this same vision after his retirement. He never did get to fulfill that dream, he was called HOME.
We talked about this when he and Bro. Bloodworth met me in Maine to do some hiking on the 100 mile wilderness. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

To the Pastors: how many missionaries do you invite to speak each year to the congregation? How do you feel is the most effective way to raise missions fund for itineration grandson missionaries?
To Church Members: what is your favorite type of mission service? What is the message you like to hear from a visiting missionary: Preaching? Evangelism and healing? Stories from the mission work? Explanation of the need for support and report of how monies are spent? Transparent question: do you stay home when you hear there is a missionary scheduled?
Trying to improve my communication skills and seeking help for services

We have 1 major missions convention |
brotherjames |
Each year where we raise our faith pledges to fund our missions budget each year. We have a missionary preach the service and sharw their stories and needs as well. We have a missions dinnet in oyr banquet center immediately following wirh kiosks set up with food from regions of the woeld. It is alwats well attended and a highliggt of the year. addition, we have 6 months later a missions emphasis Sunday with a chilli cookoff. That will occur this sunday btw. A missionary will speak and share their needs and praise reports. We also invite one or two missionaries to come speak on a wed. Nite to our youth and adults in different meetings. Also, we publish a missionary name that we support in our bulletin each week and ask for the congregstion to pray for them. Once per month a member of our missions team takes the offering and highlights missionary needs or praise reports to keep the awareness in front of the church. Our youth go on one missions trip per year in america. Our Bible College goes overseas once each year and our adults usually go on a overseas missions trip every other year. We are committed to the cause of missions at home and around the world. It is our mandate from the Lord, is it not? To be witnesses in power in Jerusalem, judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth. |
