Post Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a Fond Farewell Old Time Country Preacher
For many years now Doyle has provided a forum in which Church of God ministers (and others) could engage one another per any number of issues. I would like to thank Doyle for Actscelerate. In recent months it has been suggested that posters are leaving Acts, with the allusion that it may be the fault—partially or in full—of Old Time Country Preacher. OTCP has been with Acts from its inception. Acts has been a place of serious debate, dialogue and discussion. It has also been a forum for fun, lightheartedness and banter.

That said, it is not my wish for the parody to be the cause of anyone leaving, so perhaps this is a good time for a sabbatical—perhaps even a permanent sabbatical. After reading this post, some may say “good riddance” or “don’t let the door hit you” or “it’s about time.” No problem, everyone has a right to their own opinion and viewpoint. Via the parody of OTCP I have had no problem sharing mine.

As I bid a fond farewell to my fellow posters/peers, it is important to me that each of you know I have no animosity toward anyone. Even those who hold a different position than I on particular points of doctrine, ethics, polity, etc., you remain my brother/sister in Christ. Forgive me if I have offended you in any way. I covet your prayers as I continue serving in His kingdom.

Hold fast to the faith! Reject error! Walk ethically! Accept no less than solid exegesis as the basis for your biblical/theological position(s)! Preach the love and grace of Christ!

Blessings to each of you!

well shucks I'd prefer it if yuns wud just stay a spell

seriously though, It gets more boring every time a "character" leaves. I guess soon it will be the perfect discussion board. Not one bit of disagreement left. Confused

While I might wish you would moderate your incessant harping on you-know-what, I do enjoy having you here...if for nothing else, then to cause me to have to think through some positions of mine.

But there is more! I do enjoy a good parody and the humor you bring.

Tell you what...take off the Christmas Break, then come back. There you go. A sabbatical doesn't have to be long, does it. Even professors from unaccredited colleges probably take them. So you're in good company.

Ole Timer, jus tell me one thing. Is this ere sabbatical thing your own idee or did a "higher up" suggest ya needed ta tone it down or give it a break or what have ya?
You will be sorely missed by me. I finely found someone I could talk to in ma native language. Ain't nothin like ya native language ta make ya feel at home.
Well, enjoy ya time off.
(And don't let tha door hit ya on tha way out. Razz )

And why do I git this terrible feelin that I'm listnin ta Loretta Lynn singin "Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, And Happy New Year"?

Have a happy new year! I will miss you but I'm sure you be lurking in some new iteration. Rolling Eyes Very Happy

There is no problem with honest disagreement and discussion, in fact we need it and more frankly. Having to defend your position helps us grow and even change. Being challenged is not the problem, being mocked, ridiculed and incessantly challenged can be a problem, especially when people of good will seriously disagree. Let's agree to disagree with equanimity however.

I love you in the Lord Otcp be blessed. I even love your other pen name too.

I wish you would stay for a while OT. While I have never met you I feel that we have a lot in common and I will surely miss you. As I said in another post ,
The word of the Lord will not return void , but someone has to be there to speak the word. And you have done that. God bless my friend and come back after a rest.

Don't do it. If everyone has to agree on everything, then close the board. In fact, as those that were disagreed with the most have left, the use of this board has decreased dramatically. Here's a picture of a "perfect" board for those that think they don't want to see certain types of posts on here.

brotherjames, I believe OTCP said he did not have another pen name.
In any case, you have tended to lump me in the same category with OTCP, but I can assure you I have never posted on this forum under any user name but "bonnie knox." NEVER.
