Since retiring from classroom teaching 2 years ago... |

I've been enjoying pastoring my church, working as president of the county ministries association, and have decided to do something to build up my retirement nest egg for the future. I've started driving a school bus. I'm fortunate enough to drive the special needs bus and have several wheel chair students, autistic, and also Down syndrome students.
I love them. The other day we stopped at an intersection on a country road and took 20 seconds to moo at a herd of cows.
They were wondering what I was smiling at when I came back to the bus barn.
I bank my check into savings minus tithes and mission offering, and it will also build up my Social Security since teachers don't put money into Social Security system.
Any of you drive school bus, too? _________________ Doctor of Bovinamodulation |

On my second year driving a school bus. I only do it so I can get health insurance through the school district. Your route sounds like a whole lot more fun than mine. I am very happy to be able to get benefits from a part-time job though. |

I grew up in a rural farming community and knew my school bus drivers well. In fact we knew almost everyone in our community.
Mr Red Robinson (a farmer) lived less than a mile from us was our bus driver most of my school days. His wife taught 1st and 2nd grade. Everyone loved her. They had a child in their later years. Ricky is a wonderful Christian man and a blessing to many.
RR you bring back good memories. One day those children will look back and remember you. _________________ Recorded Sermons @ www.pastorwiley.com
