Praise report: Low Rider car club interrupted bible study to give our church an offering |
Dean Steenburgh |
True.
I was sitting on the front row & this big Mexican dude walked up & asked to say something. There wasn't much choice & I could tell he wasn't alone.
I looked back & there were about 25 members of the Impala Club which is a car club of Chevy Impala owners.
Most of the cars are from 1959-1970 & these guys invest thousands on these cars to keep them in show car quality.
As it turns out, over the last few years I have allowed their club to do numerous car wash fund raisers in our parking lot & they usually do these to raise funds for funerals.
Recently they took notice that we haven't had worship services or any gatherings & they wanted to do a car wash for the church. Last Saturday while I was away celebrating my wife's birthday, they showed up at the church & raised $1,000.00 & gave it to us in the form of an offering.
I was blown away!
We needed the funds with our utility bill over due.
Our church has been closed since March & we're barely hanging on. I went back to work & have used social media for teaching/preaching.
This has been a true crisis & test of our faith & our will!
Just wanted to share some good news of how God moves upon people's hearts nowadays. _________________ "Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!"

That's awesome! Praise the Lord.
Hope everything turns around soon. Sounds like you are being as faithful as you can during this hard time. I am certain the Lord will continue to reward it. |

Thank you |

Someone sent a love offering for our church & I believe our church clerk said the gift came from an A/G church in N. Carolina. (I could be wrong on the state)
I don't know who sent it but if it came from one of the Acts family may I say a big "Thank You!"
After re-reading my OP I hope it didn't come across wrong - I would never solicit for funds in a deceptive manner or else-wise.
2020 has been a strange year & I know God has it all under control. It is weird watching how quickly things can change when you think it's so solid.
We re-open this coming Sunday at 10am & I'm really looking forward to how it's going to take shape.
Feel free to PM me so I can personally thank you _________________ "Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!"
