Council of 18 European representatives |
Dentanner |
i think it would be well to have some more non US ministers on the Council especially a representation from Europe. In the past we have had Nick Park represent UK but we could also have proven leaders from UK, Europe, N. Africa, and India. I think of Jean Tshiteya from Belgium, excellent English speaker and pastor of one of the largest COG congregations. Donald Bolt Overseer of England and UK Regional Superintendent, Eric Brown pastor England and former Overseer of England and Superintendent of UK Region. Paul Schmidgall now serving in Israel but formally served as President of ETS in Germany. Dr. Sushil Mathew, the National Overseer of Church of God Kuwait, Middle East and the Regional Coordinator for the Unreached People Groups (UPG) Ministry of the Church of God World Missions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Currently I believe on Niko and Ishmael, from outside USA are serving on the Council. Missiologist Grant McClung former Europe, CIS, N. Africa and UK Field Director and finally from India, Thomas Chako National Overseer Kerala, South India. _________________ Dennis Tanner

Only ordained bishops can be on the council of 18. Women cannot advance to the rank of ordained bishop in the CoG. |

As long as they contribute an equal percentage to the TOT. If you want to steer the boat, help row. _________________ Hate to say it, but its true

There will be a large number of current council of eighteen members who will be tenured out at this assembly. There will have to be at least 12 pastors on the next council. There are only 2 current pastors who are eligible to serve again. Assuming that those two go back on, you will need to think of at least 10 more pastors.
I would personally like to add some effective pastors who have never served. Realistically, it will have to be some guys who have enough name recognition to realistically have a chance to get enough votes. There are some really excellent pastors out there who would be exceptional and serve the Church of God well. Those are the ones who will be on my list.
A few that fit that category:
Roy Tucker
David Smith
Joe Dobbins
Scott Sheppard
Darrell Waller
Stan Lester
