It seems that most larger churches keep their pastor unless the debt is so high the pastor is nearly killed by stress of raising the finances. I am sure there are exceptions, but the ones I know of, that seems to be the case. Idea

Cojak,

I don't think that is the case in most of these. A couple of these pastors retired and a couple of them moved into administration. That caused a trickle down effect.

Cooper City - Pastor Retired
Plant City - Pastor is retiring
Oak Park - Pastor went out as an overseer
Sumiton - Pastor became mission rep
Loxley - Pastor passed away
Lawrenceville - Pastor went to Cooper City
Monroe - Pastor went to Oak Park
Griffin - Pastor went to Lawrenceville
Pathway - May fit your description

I heard Monroe has an almost unrealistic list for whoever comes to pastor. They have voted on two men from out of state and accepted neither.

If the church is a 'large' church, Most folk know the Overseer will be ressed from above to place an overseer or admin who must vacate a position. I am sure this puts some stress on the overseer.

I honestly like to see positions filled by men in the same state, where possible. Church council and church members of larger churches have realized they do have some say in who is to be their pastor, when they stick to their guns. I think that is only right. HOWEVER most exiting state overseers are good guys and will make excellent pastors. I did say MOST, because many of the contributors on this forum can point to cases where that was not the case. Big shoes to fill, in my opinion.

Yes. Joey took the church and built it up. David came in and built upon what Joey started. Both were/are dynamic preachers and Leaders who are among the top in the demonization.

Err, Starvin, methinks you must have had a misspelled word

"demonization" However, I should not be one to cast stones as my fingers are slower than my brain and spell check seems difficult on Acts. In either case, spell check wouldn't have caught this one.

Sorry. Smile

Yes denomination. By George we will have to sing the Church of God is right, twice, just to make up for that mistake.

Not sure what you mean by "larger churches" but Gateway is not as large as the others you listed. However it is a strong church.

Correct but it is considered by some to be a State Council type church.
I didn't realize that it had gone down so much in attendance.
August numbers where
Tithes- 13,854.97
Attendance- 107
Members- 404

One of the strong financial churches in the state, whose pastor is on the state council or has been on the state council.

Usually a truth. Although some do not like to think so. Wink
