I would assume the verse only took up 1 token at around $4000 so they made a one token profit. That's pretty good for the seller, but I think a terrible investment for the buyer other than it may be "the first of its kind". NFTs are a bit like websites in 1995, a novelty so everyone thought they were worth big bucks just for being on the Internet. Turned out that was a joke which lead to a crash in 1999, this will all likely crash too. NFTs have their place (record keeping, contracts, even actual Art that can't be duplicated, etc..), but some of these things are just novelties people are wasting money on in my opinion. The best thing to come out of them though is to get people to start understanding block-chain so that when they really do want to use NFTs on a regular basis, they will look at the more affordable and higher-tech (faster and cheaper) tokens out there (hint, Bitcoin and Ethereum are not fast, cheap or properly decentralized compared to many alt-coins). Who wants to pay $5K just to file a contract? |
