Post Texas Baptist Church approves Gay Marriage (L) Mat
The part where the pastor says they don't get into "whose in and whose out" of heaven and hell, they just preach the Gospel is interesting.

As best I can determine, acceptance of ongoing sinners of all kinds is perfectly consistent with Baptist theology, which historically has always affirmed that we all must inevitably sin daily. We have tragically enough even seen such antinomian theology infecting supposedly Pentecostal churches in recent years as well.

If one grants the premise that sin is inevitable in this life, and the theory of atonement that says all sin, past, present and future is prepaid-for as a debt or penalty, and you add in the idea that all sin is the same (but that any judging of any kind is basically the worst of all sins), it then necessarily follows that one must affirm all sinners, even LGBTQETC, as already accepted in the Beloved and, consequently, by no means disqualified of acceptance in every aspect of church life.

In an age in which an unrepentant serial adulterer, strip club casino owner, boastful womanizer, wanton groper, pro-LGBTQETC, New York liberal is overwhelmingly supported by professing evangelicals for President, it should come as little surprise that a Baptist church would openly endorse the full acceptance of sodomites as members and even leaders.

Post Quiet Wyatt...something to consider Aaron Scott
Consider that THOUSANDS of other Baptist churches believe in the whole OSAS thing...and yet they wholeheartedly reject gay marriage, etc.

I don't think I'd want to judge all the Baptists church either by this church or by Westboro Baptist...just as I wouldn't want the Church of God judged by the actions of a very small group of extremists, etc.

Make sense?

I am not speaking specifically of OSAS, and in fact nowhere referred to it. I am instead speaking of the antinomian concept that says sin is inevitable in this life. Also, I never said all Baptist churches were LGBTQ affirming. What I did say was that to affirm the LGBTQ lifestyle is logically consistent with the doctrine of inevitable sinning that is in fact taught by them.

Their lack of love toward those ensnared in this sin is very sad. Love does not delight in iniquity, but rejoices with the truth.

Exactly. Most Baptists I know affirm that the new birth brings a change of behavior. No change of behavior, no new birth. Granted, they also believe that if you have truly been born again you can never backslide, but that is a far cry different than saying one can be born again, live like the devil and sti go to Heaven.
