The system has abandoned our region in my opinion. They are letting us die as long as we can keep paying an AB is all that matters. Our churches give everything we can trying just to keep the state going. So we have already given and owe nothing, but still keep giving. |
My sentiments exactly. |

It really hurts when it comes to this. I have to ask myself how could this happen?
I have personally met only a few people in my life who felt this way. Logic tells me that this number of folks represents a good many more. I hate that. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Great topic skinny,
Real quick, my great grandparents, grandparents & parents have all been CoG & so have I ...at least I started out CoG.
The 1st 6 years I just preached wherever the door opened & many didn't open fast.
In 1985 I began my journey with the A/G's in Fresno, CA. The A/G state office is located in Irvine, CA. out of the southern district which I was a part of.
I had a blast pastoring in 3 A/G churches during that time.
I came back to the CoG in 2000 & I came back to the same state where I was raised as a boy & attended youth camp all my growing up years & even worked as a counselor after my 19th birthday.
I too had a lot of friends who I went to camp meeting with every year, youth camp & eventually bible college.
To this day I rarely, if ever hear from a single one of them unless I reach out first.
But my A/G friends reach out to me all the time.
My heart & my ministry are with the CoG & I just have to move on with life & not let the past dictate the future.
I will always love my A/G friends & I have no plans of ever going back to that denomination.
I too love & honor all of those who have helped me to learn how to love the unloveable & one of those was my dear Uncle Frank Palumbo who taught me many lessons in ministry as well as life because he was the same guy outside of his CoG pulpit as he was camping, fishing or racing cars.

I enjoyed that comment DS, it made me smile. Not many of my peers left around, but I have found the same thing you mentioned, contact is made when I reach out.
I just told my wife yesterday. "I think their friendship to me is more important than mine was to them. But that is okay they are great guys."
Anyway, easily understood comment on this end, thanks! _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

I am still actively involved in ministry, and have (and still often do) feel exactly like this- If I care more about "friendships" than they do, is it really a friendship after all?? _________________ The lesser of two evils is still evil... |

The CoG does not owe me anything, it does owe my wife's family an apology though.
All those years working to raise money for YWEA. |
I realize this is probably not going to happen, but could you let those of us who are new what all of this means? _________________ The lesser of two evils is still evil... |

Yes I think so, more one sided, but still I consider it a friendship. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

GO is what we used to call the Presiding Bishop when his position was referred to as the General Overseer.
CoG stands for the Church of God.
YWEA is the fund raising arm of the CoG Youth Dept. (Youth World Evangelism Association).
I hope thats what you were asking about or at least what your question meant lol
