I must admit I have been struck with Trump's numbers, especially after what he said about 9/11. Some of the things he has said and his record and yet his diehard supporters. It defies logic, so delusion

Someone sent me something a couple of days ago to try to help me understand Trump's popularity because they don't think I get it.

Actually, I totally get it. I completely understand how frustrated and angry those voters are with the establishment elites, with the constant class warfare that is waged against them, with stagnant and declining wages, with immigration policy, with corruption in government, and with a hundred and one other things. And I get their desire to want to do something radical to change those things. Not only do I get it, but I completely agree with them. They're totally right.

What I don't get, and will never get, is why they think Donald J. Trump is the answer to those problems, rather than a liar and charlatan who is taking advantage of them just like all the other elites do. I don't get and will never get how they don't see what an obviously false messiah he is. I think "strong delusion" is a good way to put it.

They are allowing their anger to seal their fate. America will not recover from another 4 to 8 years of liberal "hope and change". Trump will not be president, he only has enough support to block a legitimate candidate. He leads all contestants in the "I will not vote for him" category.

The willingness of the American people to elect Barack Obama, not once, but twice, is proof positive of the strong delusion at work in their collective minds. [Insert Acts Pun Here]

I hear you & that sounds like a relative point except Ferdinand has been gone for over 25 years so I think Trumps ok.

Trump tweeted "I wonder if Obama would attend Justice Scalia's funeral if it were held in a mosque ..." LOL that is exactly why its so hard to talk people out of supporting Trump, he's the only one saying what most of are thinking. But I've got friends who I wouldn't trust to watch my dog that agree with me on that, doesn't make them a good candidate for POTUS Golf Cart Mafia Consigliere

Just because things go through our minds, doesn't mean we should say them! Therein lies Donald's problem. He lacks tact.

Met with a friend yesterday who is quite wealthy & he belongs to several conservative organizations & clubs, most dealing with military life & operations. They informed me yesterday that many of their members have been looking which way to vote & they have decided that Trump is their man.

A lot of the details for their decisions came from the recent visit from the Pope. I won't go into all of it but let's just say that these guys are good Christian people who have fought for America & they see Trump as the guy they want to see handling people like Putin. There is a feeling that politicians don't know how to use American grit any more.

I asked them a lot of thought provoking questions but these 70 somethings were convinced that the democrats are sleezy & the other republicans are run of the mill politicians who say one thing & do another. They used Paul Ryan as an example of a do nothing, asleep at the wheel leader.
